At the Reception, the usual line up waiting to greet the guests is as follows:
The Bride’s father and Groom’s mother followed by the Groom and Bride followed by the Groom’s father and Bride’s mother followed by the chief Bridesmaid and lastly followed by the Best Man. The line-up ensure that both families have the opportunity to speak to all the guests and introduce each others families and friends to one another.

Toasts and Speeches
These will normally take place at the end of the Wedding Breakfast and should each be no longer than 10 minutes long.
- The Bride and Groom cut the cake
- Toast to “The Bride and Groom” this is normally proposed by the Bride’s father or a close relative or friend, who will start the speeches
- Toast “The Bridesmaids” proposed by the Bridegroom following his response to the first speeches
- The Best Man responds to the Bridegrooms speech on behalf of the Bridesmaids. He should also read the telegrams and cards to the guests.
